Introduction & rules

  Introduction to gym etiquette,unwritten rules

  1. Always put any weights, including dumbbells, barbells, plates, etc., back where you got them  when you are finished with them.
  2. Don't leave personal items like water bottles, clothing, books, etc. sitting on benches or machines so other people can use the equipment too. If you need a locker, go to the locker room.
  3. Don't talk on your cell phone at the gym unless it's in the lobby or some quiet area where there are no people. Nobody wants to hear your personal business and it's distracting.
  4. Don't come to the gym smelling like the bog of eternal stench. Just wash yourself or put on some deodorant.
  5. Don't creep out the ladies by fixating your eyes on them throughout their entire workout. Learn how to glance without making it obvious.
  6. If you're a man, don't stare at another man in the locker room. It might be taken the wrong way because, when I think about it, there is really no right way it can be taken. The same goes for women too.
  7. Don't go around offering everyone unsolicited advice on what they're doing wrong. Even if it's good advice, nobody asked for it.
  8. Don't ever sit down in the sauna naked without a towel. It's unsanitary and disgusting. Plus, your butt cheeks leave a sweat imprint, which only reminds me that you were just there.
  9. If you're going to drip sweat all over a machine, bench, or some piece of equipment, have the decency to wipe it up.
  10. Learn what "working in" means. If you don't know what it means or don't like to practice it, you need to stay home.
  11. Don't grunt like a silver back gorilla during mating season when lifting weights unless you're power-lifting. Not only is it obnoxious, but it is unnecessary. Trust me. It's only distracting others.
  12. Try to limit the amount of time you stare at yourself in the mirror. If you think nobody notices, you're wrong.
  13. If something's brewing in your stomach, try your best not to release it around anybody. Just go to the bathroom if you feel you need to do that.
  14. If you're using a machine or a bench, don't just sit on it between sets. Let other people use it when you're not. The machine and the bench are not places for rest, but instead are for work.

  INFORMATION ON GYM EQUIPMENTS

Many of us just do exercises but don't know the names of exercises that's really very embarrassing. So now on no worries here is the solution....................................

1)Before joining gym it's always advisable to browse in the internet and know the names of some basic  jimmying stuffs.

2) while in gym try to know the names of exercises rather than knowing them by actions.

3)There is a lot of emphasis placed on wiping down machines after use. While this tip should be followed, it's also important to take your health into your own hands by cleaning the cardio machine or Nautilus-style machines before you use them. Even if the last person who used the machine did wipe it down, sweat and germs could still be transferred from a neighboring exerciser, especially in gyms where the equipment is close together.

4)Make sure you know how a piece of exercise equipment works before using it.

5)If you are pushing your max weight or rep count, you should consider using a spotter. A spotter can help you lift the weight if you get stuck or injure yourself while lifting.

6)Do not overlook the condition of the workout area before attempting to use gym equipment. In particular, inspect the flooring to note whether it is free from spills, tripping hazards or damaged surfaces. Also, inspect the area to determine that you have sufficient area to perform your exercises using the equipment so that you are free from obstruction by other objects or persons.
